Apply for Junior Staff

We’re so excited to meet our newest Junior Staff members! Please read the Junior Staff position description and application process below thoroughly. To get started, you must complete steps 1 – 3 before the application deadline. 

The full Junior Staff application process requires that you:

1) Fill out the form below to indicate your interest

2) Fill out the HOBY National volunteer form (a link will be provided to you upon submission of #1)

3) SAVE THE DATE for Thursday evening, June 6 – Sunday afternoon , June 9

4) Be selected for Junior Staff by our Director of Volunteers **you cannot proceed with steps 5 or 6 until you receive this notification

5) Complete all required documents and pay your staff dues (TBD but is usually $125 – 150)

6) Show up for the seminar on Thursday night!

 

Junior Staff Position Description

To apply for the HOBY MO Junior Staff team, you must be a HOBY alumni and under 21.

Junior Staff members are primarily assigned to the role of Junior Facilitator where they work with a team of 8-10 student ambassadors throughout the weekend to help facilitate discussions along with a Senior Facilitator (21+). Some Junior Staff members with also help with seminar operations by setting up meals, activities and technology aspects of the seminar. Junior Facilitator and Operations roles will be assigned by the Leadership Seminar Committee. 

Junior Staff members are required to arrive at the seminar venue the Thursday evening prior to seminar start and remain at the seminar through the closing ceremonies on Sunday. This includes overnight stays at the seminar venue. There is a small fee to cover the cost of lodging.
